Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Signal ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Signal is a voice-to-content platform that transforms voice recordings into written content for social media and newsletters. The Service uses third-party artificial intelligence technologies, including OpenAI's Whisper (for transcription) and GPT models (for content generation), to process your recordings and generate content.

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Content generated by Signal is created by artificial intelligence and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content requires human review before publication
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all content before use
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or appropriateness of generated content
• You must not publish AI-generated content without proper review
• We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of AI-generated content

4. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

5. Subscriptions & Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods or unused time.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, defamatory, or infringes on others' rights
• Generate content for fraudulent, deceptive, or malicious purposes
• Impersonate others or misrepresent AI-generated content as human-written when disclosure is required
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or compromise the Service

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms without refund.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of your original voice recordings. For AI-generated content, you own the output subject to your compliance with these terms. We retain all rights to the Service itself, including software, designs, trademarks, and proprietary technology.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers including OpenAI (AI processing), Supabase (data storage), Stripe (payments), and Vercel (hosting). Your use of the Service is also subject to these providers' terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party service outages or changes.

9. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Signal and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction.
